Skyline Drive is one of Colorado's most unique and thrilling drives — a narrow paved road running along the crest of a knife-edge hogback ridge just west of downtown Cañon City. The 3-mile road offers unobstructed 360-degree views of the Royal Gorge, Wet Mountains, Pikes Peak, and the Arkansas River Valley. The dramatic exposure (sheer drops on both sides in places) makes this a must-drive experience. Free, open year-round weather permitting.
