About
Tunnel Drive Trail follows the line of an 1892 irrigation canal that became a water pipeline road in 1909, cut into the cliffs above the Arkansas River west of Cañon City. The trail passes through three historic tunnels blasted through the rock and looks down into the mouth of the gorge. It runs about 2 miles each way and is a local favorite for sunset hikes and rides. Free to access, with parking at the trailhead off US-50.
